SPATS offers eight(8) Main Technical/Engineering Courses. These are: Automobile Engineering Technology,Electrical Engineering Technology,Mechanical Engineering Technology,Building Construction Technology,Wood Construction Technology,Welding & Fabrication and Architectural Drafting&Welding & Fabrication.

In the beginning of the foundation of the School, there was only one course being offered. This course was the Building and Construction . Then later the Auto mechanic was added. And then the rest of the three other courses, namely: Carpentry and Joinery, Mechanical, and Electrical Installation ,Architectural Drafting.

So there are basically eight(8) courses being offered in  SPATS. For the basic intermediate studies, the full-time students come to school to study for three years. They stay in the School Dormitories (Boarding & Lodging) while the Day Students stay outside the school campus. They come to school only to study and go to their respective hostels after school hours. There is also another category of students studying in SPATS. They are called Part-time. They come only in the afternoon after the full-time and the Day Students close their studies.

For their case they study for three hours (2:30 pm - 5:30 pm) only during regular class days (Monday to Friday). But during holidays (after third term examination) they come for six hours a day to make up the shortage of study hours during regular class days. So that after three years they will also graduate together with the full-time and the Day students.

And just recently, because of the demands, apart from the intermediate (three-year training) the advance courses are also offered. Now all the seven courses have corresponding Advance studies. The following are advance studies:

The number of years in advance studies depend upon the nature of the course being taken. But in general advance studies last for at least two(2) years.

SPATS is known for its academic and practical activities.

Academic Studies:

For basic tertiary level: Form 1 students study English, Mathematics, Science, Calculation, Technical drawing. And also all the theories which are required according to the student’s main course, such as theory in Auto mechanic; Mechanical, Electrical; Building and Constructions; Carpentry and Joinery. In addition since Form 1 is the basic Form, students are required to extend their studies of the subjects that are related to their courses. For example; Mechanical is related to Auto and Electrical's. So Mech students have to study also the basic theory of Auto and Electrical's. Likewise Auto students have to study the basic theory of Electrical's and Mechanical. And the same is true with the Electrical students.

Form 2 students study English, Mathematics, Science, Calculation, Technical drawing, Bible Knowledge. And also all the theories which are required according to the student’s course. Unlike the Form 1 students they don’t study the related courses anymore. But focus on their respective main course’s subjects.

Form 3 students study higher English, Mathematics, Science, Calculation, Technical drawing. And well as all the theories of their required courses. This time they are studying with much concentration and comprehension since they are writing “external examination”. This is the National Technical Examination of the Ghana Education System (NTEGES). Hence, a lot of review are done in this level.

The advance studies

This activity involves mainly the harnessing of the practical skills of the students in their specified field of studies: Practical of Mehcanical; Practicals of Automechanic; Practicals of Electricity and installation; Practical of Building and Construction; Practical of Carpentry and Joinery.

Because practical aspect is very important, the students devote several hours of practice a day.
